"Good ol’ fashion service here. Newstead is one of those places we have just travelled thru a thousand times and have never really stopped until today. The Newstead Country Store, truly is just that. It’s a cross between a newsagency, an old fashion milk bar, a place where you can get a pizza or fish and chips or a hamburger, plus enjoy a coffee. Here you can dine inside or out. Free parking is just in front of the store. We purchased a meal and drinks which were very enjoyable. The staff were very friendly and gave us good ol’ fashion service too. You will also find what I thought was some unexpected and quirky things on sale here. Well worth a stop to break up your travel."

"Great little country town milk bar. Does some hot food (take away and sit). Also lovely cold thick shakes and milk shakes (great in summer). Excellent, and I mean excellent, egg & bacon toasties and coffee. Toasted perfectly. They will hit the spot on a road trip. Indoor and outdoor (if you have your hound with you) seating. Plus usual milk bar items available."
